Back to 1949

This is my grandfather's 1949 Chevy that he restored over several years. I decided to use these pictures with the Twitterpated paper we are using in scrapbooking class and I think they turned out ok. I was lucky to go for a little cruise with my grandpa in his truck and it was so much fun! I thought using my grandpa's 8th grade graduation picture added to the nostalgia.

Double Time

On Thursday night I was cleaning out Timmy's sports bag after his football game and found a note from school. When I asked him about it, he told me he had volunteered me to make cards for a school announcement and I needed them ready by Tuesday, so I made up these cute little cards over the weekend. I made 25 in two different designs as my blue and gold paper supply is limited. Thank goodness for my cricut!

Cherry on top

A few cards I have made this past week. I used silouette and key to my heart papers, two of my favs.

I scraplifted this page from the cover of the Spring 2009 IB. I have wanted to make it since I first seen it, and a perfect picture presented itself.

This is the Father's Day card I made for my father-in-law. I used the Message In a Pocket pattern from Originals and the Sarsaparilla paper packet. I also used Barn Red and Black ink for distressing and some pewter embellishments and Stickease.

Future Scrapper

Just had to post this picture I got of my niece exploring my work area. Isn't she too cute?

Get to know me

Here are a few tidbits of information about myself that some of you might not know.

First, I try to live life according to some rules I set in place for myself:

1. Love God
2. Love my family
3. Be kind to everyone - "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." - Bible: Hebrews (13:2)

Did you know:
I grew up on a farm in a town with a population of 98
I am an Airforce brat
My favorite sport is badmitten
There is no word or emotion strong enough to descripe the fear I have of spiders
When I was young, I wanted to be Indiana Jones when I grew up
I read an issue of National Geographic when I was 8 years old about the ancient city of Pompey, I have been intrigued by ancient history ever since.
My favorite channel on TV is the History Channel (no surprise there)
I can play the piano, violin and oboe
I average 5 hours of sleep
I am cursed with a need to be overly organized (I may have a 2 inch layer of dust and pet hair on everything, but by gosh it's organized)
My favorite time of day is early morning
I once ate tree sap because I thought it was maple syrup, it did not turn out well
My brother and I invented a game called "Around the world in 80 seconds" it was basically wrapping each other up with pillows inside a blanket, using a couple belts to secure, putting on my dad's old football helmet, and then pushing each other down the stairs. Yeah, that was probably a stupid game.
I "rescued" water snakes from irrigation ditches on our farm and secretly kept them as pets (only for a couple of hours)
I like thunderstorms
My husband made me believe when we first came to Kansas that Jayhawks were a real bird, so of course I spent countless hours trying to find one with the binoculars

And now you know the "rest of the story"

Where's Timmy?

My son is spending this week with his Grandparents and has been gone since Saturday. This is the longest I have been seperated from him and I am missing him terribly. I'm not the only one either. Flash has been acting oddly these past few days. One day he would just lay down and whine, then get up and do a walk-through of the house and then come back to the couch to lay down and whine. Yesterday as I busied myself with daily chores, I noticed he was going into Timmy's room a lot, then he was bringing me things, one of Timmy's shoes, later a few stuffed animals. I think he misses Timmy just as much as I do.
