Spring Layout and Studio Calico for Sale

I am sharing a pretty spring layout today.  I used Fancy Pants Time for Spring paper collection which is too cute!

I also have listed a ton of Studio Calico kit leftovers in my Etsy shop in two listings...here.

Serenade Layout

A new layout using the Bo Bunny Serenade collection.  I used a lot of the Noteworthy and chipboard to create the embellishments.  It has such bold patterns, but looks amazing with the black and white photos of my sister's wedding.

Simple Stories Layout

This two page layout was made using the Simple Stories Generations collection.  This is probably one of my favorite paper collections and I have had it tucked away for awhile since I hated to cut into it.  I finally took the plunge and am so happy I did since I LOVE how it turned out.  I used the matching stickers as well and used various punches to make the tags and tabs.

 

 I am sharing another two page layout that I made using the Crate Paper Pretty Party collection.  The layout idea is of course from a PageMaps sketch.

Sketch Layout

I used two sketches from PageMaps to create this two page layout.

The left page is from October 2011 and the right is Jan. 2012.  I modified them slightly to create a two page layout.

Thursday Layouts

I have a couple of layouts to share again today.

My first layout I am sharing is probably one of the most mixy matchy layouts I have ever made.  I just used up a lot of left-over papers and tried to color coordinate as best I could.  I felt so lucky to find the pictures that would incorporate well into the color scheme.

I used the CTMH Workshop on the Go as my inspiration for the next layout.  I did not have the Workshop kit, so I just made due with what I had on hand.  I used pages from an old atlas for the maps.  One of the ladies from my class suggested color copying atlas pages if you did not want to rip them out from the book.

A Productive Day

I am happy to finally share some layouts with you.  I have had the pages done for awhile, but had not gotten around to adding the photos.  Today was a bit gloomy outside, so I set to work in my scraproom.  I went through a lot of pictures to find some I thought would work for 3 out of the 4 layouts.  I already had pictures for the "Garden" layout, I just needed to size and print them.  I even had time to bake a cake, from scratch even.  It always feels nice to get something accomplished and cross it off the "to-do" list.

  

And another little project I'm working on.  I am embroidering the napkins in colors to match my Rose Chintz pattern.

Ask A Spider For Advice?

Wednesday once again and it is time to take a peek at what is on my workdesk.  WOYWW hostess, Julia, always has something fun and interesting to peek at with many other creative spaces to inspire, so check it out here.

My workdesk is really the same as it usually is, however, it is now relocated back upstairs.  After last weeks encounter with the spider I was finding it difficult to feel comfortable downstairs.  I must admit though, after I slayed the 8-legged fiend, I felt rather guilty.  I read in a housekeeping book the very next day that one should not kill spiders, but rather capture them under a cup, slip a piece of sturdy paper underneath, then take them outdoors and release them, only after asking them for advice just prior to letting them go.  Has anyone ever heard of asking a spider for advice?  Well, from now on I will try to refrain from harming them, but I will leave the capture up to my husband.

I have had many orders for baby cards since I posted my last creations, so that is what I have been busy working on.  Now orders for Mother's Day cards are pouring in so I will need to get busy on those very soon. 

I have finished up the layouts for my class.  I will begin teaching this layout starting tonight.  I think it is so cute.  Maybe it is my niece who makes it so cute?

And another fun find.  I have been on such a roll lately with finding useful items for super cheap (my favorite).  I purchased this vintage kitchen cart and after scrubbing it for a couple of hours I placed it in my scraproom to use as my die cutting station.  It clears a little more room off my workdesk.

Feelin' Springy

I am so ready for Spring to come.  I just don't like cold weather (hard to believe I grew up in Northern Wyoming).  I can begin to see our grass greening up and some potential leaf buds on my apple tree, so I know it will be here soon. 

I have a few spring-y projects to share today and note that I am playing around with some different ways to photograph my work.  Since my studio is in the basement, I have been using artificial "natural" light for photos and they just don't turn out how I would like, so I opened up the french doors this morning on the east and tried photographing there, so will see.

First, a scrapbook LO that I taught for class.  Inspired by Sheri Tossi.

Next is a spring banner using the same CTMH "Wings" paper.  I started teaching this last night for scrapbooking class (sometimes I have my class do something other than layouts).

And last is a card made using Pink Paislee "Sweetness" paper.  I have not stamped a sentiment yet as this may be one a customer would want personalized or I will use it for something and stamp it when I know what that something is.

Now on to my workdesk.  I am posting the scrapbook layout I am teaching this month using CTMH "Wings" paper from the Inspirations brochure.

Today the postman made my day by delivering my new Papertrey Ink dies and stamps that were released on Jan. 15th. I am so glad Kansas is close to Ohio. :)

ABC Challenge at H2H

Over at H2H the challenge this week is an ABC challenge.  Our project has to include the following ABC's:

     A= Alphabet. Use alphabet stamps, stickers, etc.... in some way on your project
     B= Boy. Your project must be for a boy.
     C= Chocolate. You must include the color Chocolate (or other dark brown) somewhere on your artwork.

I kind of feel like I cheated because my project is actually the layout project featured in the Passages Workshop On The Go.  After I finished it for my scrapbook class that I teach, I realized it fit the criteria for this weeks challenge.  The first layout is of my son's 8th grade graduation.  Enjoy!
